Mindfulness has received quite a bit of notoriety over the past few years and rightly so. It’s practices have been tremendously beneficial for those challenged with mental and or physiological stress.
Luckily, with it’s newly found celebrity, it hasn’t let it go to it’s head and continues to benefit people from all walks of life.
This book has been written for anyone who’s interested in learning about the basics of mindfulness or those with an existing practice who might be looking to expand their practice in a new and interesting direction.
For those of you who are new to mindfulness and are unclear as to what it’s all about, let me offer you this definition which I utilize in the book: “Mindfulness, in essence, is when you strive to keep your focus on what you are engaged in at the present moment, the experience itself, to the exclusion of all other thought.”
There are a number of approaches to a mindfulness approach and this is just one flavor of many. I hope it will resonate with you at some level. However, it is not the be-all end-all of instruction. There are many excellent spiritual works out there on the topic, as well as psychological approaches and studies underway, many of which I’ll be referencing in the blog posts.
So I hope you’ll subscribe to one of my many information outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc.) and continue your education as I continue mine.
